Teenage Cancer Trust
On Saturday 24th March three young people from St Cuthbert’s volunteered to help raise funds for Teenage Cancer Trust. Megan Roberts, Sarah Park and Amy Park, along with three youngsters from Kilwinning willingly gave up their Saturday afternoon to be involved in a national fundraising day at Aldi in Saltcoats.
Their efforts exceeded all expectations and jointly they helped to raise £1710; the largest amount collected at any Aldi store in the UK that weekend. The girls’ conduct and enthusiasm were highly praised by the ALDI management and TCT organisers. They were a credit to themselves, their families and the church. TCT is a fantastic organisation which raises much needed funds to provide specialist nursing care and support for young people diagnosed with cancer. It was with great joy that the Nominating Committee of Saltcoats St. Cuthbert’s Parish Church announced on Sunday 15th April 2018 that Rev. Sarah Nicol of Aberdeen Midstocket Parish Church would preach as sole nominee at St. Cuthbert’s on Sunday 29th April at 10.45am for the vacant charge. The church was well filled with members and friends of the church on that day as we opened a new chapter in our history. After a wonderful service Sarah was duly elected. As we wait for the Presbytery processes to be completed we look forward to the Induction Service which looks likely to take place in early August.
” All are welcome in this place.”
Pop in and enjoy great food, good company and a chat. Come along and sample the menu on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month. The soup and the “special” are freshly prepared on site in the morning as are the various sandwich fillings. The home baked cakes can also be enjoyed along with ample tea and coffee (free refills). Soup is £1.50,”special” (sometimes – mince and tatties) £3.50.
A great night was had by young and young at heart at our recent ceilidh. Those not so nimble still enjoyed the foot tapping scottish music and some interesting prize dances entertained when potatoes took on a life of their own when “bowled” towards a bottle.

It was with great sadness that the congregation learned of the death of our former minister, Rev. Arthur Sherratt.
Arthur was inducted into the charge of Saltcoats St Cuthberts from Kilbarchan in 2014 and retired in 2016.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Susan and their family at this time.
