“City” comes to town.
A prestigious choir is visiting the Three Towns on Sunday 26th March. The City of Glasgow Chorus will perform a concert of “Choral Classics” in St Cuthbert’s Church in Saltcoats at 3pm.
The choir members had a successful tour in China last autumn and as well as their regular concerts in and around the city, the singers are often seen and heard in support in the choir stalls in the Royal Concert Hall.
Since it was founded in 1983 the City of Glasgow Chorus has established itself as one of the biggest independent choral groups in the West of Scotland and a significant player in Scotland’s arts environment with approaching 100 members.
The choir will present a programme entitled “Choral Classics – Something Old, Something New” to include Handel’s Zadok the Priest, Parry’s I Was Glad, John Rutter’s Gaelic Blessing, Schubert’s Ave Maria and lots more well-known favourites.
Tickets priced £5 can be obtained by telephoning 471207 or at the door.
