Today saw the dedication of the 1st Saltcoats Boys’ Brigade (BB). Their colours were presented during the first hymn “All my hope on God is founded”. Later during the service, the BB leaders confirmed that they would, by their work and example, seek to advance Christ’s Kingdom and work in partnership with the Church to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and by prayer and personal preparation seek to equip themselves in every possible way for this service. The boys present stood to affirm their promise to be a loyal member of The Boys’ Brigade and to support the activities of the Company.
Finally, the congregation were asked to stand and promise to support the work of our Company of The Boys’ Brigade and to pray for its Leaders and Boys that God will keep them Sure and Steadfast in their faith. Unfortunately, a significant number of boys were missing from the service but those who managed to come ably reflected their commitment.
The colours were returned to the BB leaders during their anthem “Will your anchor hold” and were paraded out of the church to the National Anthem.
