The Guild

WE WILL FULLY RESTART ON WEDNESDAY 6th SEPTEMBER 2023.

Once finalised, the programme from September to December 2023 will be shown here.

The Guild Report as presented to the 2023 General Assembly can be downloaded HERE.

ALL ARE VERY WELCOME!

The Church of Scotland Guild is a movement within the Church of Scotland which invites and encourages both women and men to commit their lives to Jesus Christ and enables them to express their faith in worship, prayer, action and fellowship.

The Guild has changed a lot, and is now less formal, and open to men and women. We are a friendly group of people, giving everyone a warm welcome. Each year we have a varied programme of speakers. If you have nothing planned for Wednesday afternoons, do come along and join us – you can count on a welcome cup of tea.

The second year’s theme is linked to a three years strategy: Look Forward in Faith.

We usually meet on the first and third Wednesday of the month from 2 pm to 4 pm in from September until Easter (excluding January) in our Church Hall, unless otherwise indicated. The forthcoming session details will be posted here once finalised. Events in red are gatherings of all the Guilds in North Ayrshire.

THREE YEAR STRATEGY

Every three years, a strategy is decided by the Guild and within that are three annual themes. Our strategy for 2022-2024 is “Look Forward in Faith

Annual themes were introduced to encourage Guilds to plan their programmes more effectively. These resources were introduced in the 1950s to give a focus for Guilds but are sufficiently broad to allow for imaginative planning.

Theme 2021 – “Seeking the way”

Theme 2022 – “Wee seeds, Big trees”

Theme 2023 – “New wine, new wine skins”
